The festival encourages visitors to look beyond the visible and experience moments where reality intertwines with illusion. Artists from around the world will transform Jelgava into a breathtaking world of ice and imagination, creating a bridge between reality and fantasy.
Visitors can enjoy the full winter holiday experience – music, creative activities, and entertainment for the whole family. The main venues include the open-air concert hall Mītava, the Ice Rink and Pasta Island where both individual and team sculptures will be on display alongside a rich cultural program. Jāņa Čakstes Boulevard, previously part of the ticketed festival area, will this year become a free-access festive zone with a market offering local delicacies and artisan crafts, perfect for soaking up the winter atmosphere.
The festival program is diverse and suitable for all ages. Children will delight in ice games and theatre performances, while curious minds can enjoy exciting science shows featuring interactive experiments. Visitors will also have the chance to watch live ice sculpting demonstrations and see how masterpieces are created from ice. The festival atmosphere will be enhanced by illusionist performances, allowing everyone to feel the true “power of illusion,” as well as concerts by the musical group “Vintāža” and the ensemble “Tandēms trijatā”. Additionally, festival-goers can look forward to special headline musicians, whose names will be revealed soon – their performances promise to be the highlight of the event.
As night falls, the sculptures will be illuminated with colorful light displays, transforming Pasta Island into a place where imagination knows no bounds.
The festival runs from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets purchased by January 31 are available at a discounted price from Biļešu Paradīze outlets across Latvia, the Jelgava Culture House box office, and online at www.bilesuparadize.lv. Each ticket grants day access, allowing multiple entries to the festival grounds on the same day.
