the 27th International Ice Sculpture Festival “Power of Illusion”

This February, Jelgava invites you to immerse yourself in the winter spirit and experience one of the most anticipated events of the season – the 27th International Ice Sculpture Festival “Power of Illusion”. The festival will take place on February 7–8, and tickets are now available for purchase.

At the beginning of February, Jelgava will transform into a world of illusion—a place where secrets are revealed and the invisible becomes visible. Here, reality meets fantasy, truth blends with deception, and ice sculptures become a bridge between the seen and the imagined. The 27th International Ice Sculpture Festival in Jelgava invites visitors to look beyond the boundaries of the visible and experience “The Power of Illusion”—a theme brought to life in ice by sculptors from various countries around the world.

In 2026, the festival’s main venues will be Pasta Island, the open-air concert hall “Mītava”, and the Ice Rink, where visitors will be able to view both team and individual sculptures, enjoy a wide cultural program, and take part in other activities. Meanwhile, Jānis Čakste Boulevard, which in previous years was part of the paid area, will this time become a freely accessible zone with market stalls and leisure opportunities. After dark, the sculptures will glow in multicolored light displays, allowing imagination to rise beyond the limits of reality. Visitors will be entertained by ice sculptors’ live demonstrations, educational and creative programs for children and adults, illusion shows, ice games, and concerts featuring well-known Latvian artists—the band “Instrumenti,” Normunds Rutulis with the Famous Riga Orchestra, and the group “Tautumeitas.”
