Krāču Hills (Krāču Kalni) are one of the biggest dunes of the ancient Littorina Sea. The highest part of this mound is situated 29 m above the sea level and 26 m above the surrounding plains. The Littorina Sea was the predecessor of the current Baltic Sea; it existed about 7000 – 5000 years ago. The dunes of the Littorina period are protected because of their significant geological value as evidence of the processes along the coastline of the ancient sea and the beautiful dune landscape.

Duke tombs date all the way back to 1582. Throughout history they have been repeatedly destroyed and looted. In the 70’s of the 20th century the arrangement and research of the burial began, as well as conservation and restoration of the textiles.

The hotel of the Blankenfelde Manor is situated in the newly renovated part of the Manor – the stables/cart-house. Here, on the first floor, the Manor owner's private bell collection is displayed but, on the second floor, tastefully furnished and cozy hotel rooms are situated. Construction of the hotel building was started in 1938 according to the design of the architect Alfreds Laukirbe. Construction works were completed in 1940, and the Hotel Jelgava became one of the finest hotels in Latvia. Today this building is Latvian national cultural monument.
The hotel Jelgava is located in the very centre of the city, next to the former residence of the Duke Peter Biron - Jelgava Palace. Jelgava Palace - former residence of Courland and Zemgale dukes, now - the house of Latvia University of Agriculture. Jelgava Palace is the largest Baroque style palace in the Baltic states, the greatest work of famous Russian court architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli and one of the few cultural monuments remained in Jelgava.

By the order of the Duke of Gothard Kettler, around 1571 Zaļenieki Lutheran Church was built to replace the Catholic Chapel. The current masonry building was completed in 1872. The dark oak interior creates very interesting and peculiar acoustics - sounds do not flow as in churches with high ceiling vaults, but they somehow get absorbed by the wooden boards. The old organ has been preserved in the church, which was built by P.K. Hermanis in 1862. The altar of the church is composed of the elevation decorated with a cross and candlelights and the altar painting by J.Hinner (1873). Next to the church is a cemetery for the WWI soldiers. The bell of the church tower is the largest in Jelgava County.
